They say business gets done on the golf course, but we'd add that it also happens at the kick-off party the night before. In June, Techdinamics packed two unforgettable events into 48 hours in Toronto: a Happy Hour with our partner Logiwa that drew 3PL, warehousing, and logistics professionals from across the industry, followed the very next morning by the 2026 Techdinamics & Desmos IWLA Canada Golf Tournament. Ahead in this recap, learn about the signature cocktails, friendly competition, earned bragging rights, and a charity raffle that gave the week real purpose. We summed up how it all went down.
Kicking Things Off: A Party with Logiwa at The Rec Room
On Wednesday, June 10th, we co-hosted a kick-off party with our partner Logiwa at The Rec Room in Toronto. Around 40 industry members joined us for an evening of drinks, appetizers, and easy, face-to-face conversations. Guests also made the most of the venue's arcade, with the claw machine emerging as the crowd favourite: several people walked away with stuffies in hand.
Guests were welcomed with the tournament's signature drink, the Satycation, made with Captain Morgan spiced rum, passion fruit, blood orange syrup, lemon, and ginger ale. It set the tone for a themed drink menu of 12 more cocktails, including the Out of Office, the Peach Don't Kill My Vibe, and the Pick Me Up.
No gathering is complete without good food. Guests grazed on a spread of hors d'oeuvres including tomato and avocado bruschetta, buffalo cauliflower, cucumber rolls, Greek salad cups, plus chicken wings, fried chicken sliders, herbed falafel sliders, and a fresh vegetable platter. Special mention to the smoky BBQ chicken bites, which everybody loved! Margherita, pepperoni, and meat lovers pizzas were also on hand.
Overall, it was a night of good fun with a great group of people. The attendees belonged to companies like DWS Logistics, eCom Logistics, J.P. Enterprises, Wills Transfer Limited, Adli Logistics, Ottawa Logistics, BWS Logistics, QRC Logistics, Yusen Logistics, Parsel, 18 Wheels, eHub, Conduit, and more.
Game On: The 2026 Techdinamics & Desmos IWLA Canada Golf Tournament
The next morning, Thursday, June 11th, over 125 golfers gathered at Piper's Heath Golf Club in Milton for the 2026 Techdinamics & Desmos IWLA Canada Golf Tournament. We set up at hole number one, where 30 participants signed up for a chance to win a rangefinder, which went to lucky player Dallas Meyers from Sonwil Logistics.
The promise was simple: a day built for great golf, great company, and just enough friendly competition to keep things interesting. And the course delivered. Golfers were set up with a golf cart, a light breakfast to start the day, lunch after the round, awards, and plenty of laughs in between. Awards were handed out for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and more. Congratulations to all the day's champions!
More Than Golf: Giving Back
With the help of the IWLA community, we organized a charity raffle in support of Regeneration Outreach Community, a Brampton charity serving people who are experiencing homelessness, are precariously housed, or live in extreme poverty. Throughout the event, golfers bought tickets for a chance at prizes ranging from Apple Watches and signed hockey jerseys to a Yeti Cooler and more. The generosity showed: we broke our previous participation record.
Nathan Goobie, Head of Carrier Partnerships at Techdinamics, said:
“The support for this year's charity raffle was incredible. With our highest participation yet, we raised $7,290. Seeing this community come together for a great cause is one of my favourite parts of the event, and I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish. Thank you to everyone who participated and gave back”
